Now, mama is totally different. When we try to get her to say mama she does her lips in such a way to mimick the m sound but nothing comes out. It's not like she's never said it before but for some reason, she's not an on cue type of child. I get the feeling just because I want her to say it she's going to show me that she is not going to do it. no. matter. what. I can't put my finger on it, but I'm sure I know that kind of determination from somewhere.
Recently, she has started this thing where when she enters a room with people or someone new enters a room she is in she says, "heeeyyy!" with a cheesy smile. At first I just thought it was a sort of sigh but she does it every single time she sees someone she knows. And she does it in such a way as to suggest that it's been ages since she's seen them last. Like she's so relieved she has seen them again even if it's only been 5 minutes since their last encounter. It has caught on with everyone that notices her saying it and they say it just like she does which in turn makes her say it more. It has become a game she loves to play and we can't stop playing along. When she comes home in the afternoons in Blake's arms she says, "heeeyyy!", when we leave to go to the bathroom and return she says, "heeyyy!" when someone comes over for dinner or to visit she says, "heeyyy!" and when I drop her off in the mornings to Ms. Amanda she says, "heeyyy!" It has quickly become my favorite sound, a sound of love, comfort and never ending surprise.
And, of course the cheesy smile is wonderful too!
