Week 28

We have officially entered into week 28 and the third trimester!! We are so excited and we're counting down the days until we meet our little girl. She is pretty laid back but moves a lot early in the morning and late at night. She has started to make my belly contort in weird and freaky ways. Here are some belly pics. You can see how much she has grown. The first couple are from 20 1/2 weeks and the second set are 27 1/2 weeks.

As you can tell, she is getting everything she needs from mommy and more!! In fact, maybe a little too much. Our doctor informed us this week that I failed two glucose tests and I have gestational diabetes. I have to go next week to meet with a Diabetic counselor and dietician to manage it. With the right care it should not affect Gabrielle too much. She will have to get an extra prick when she is born so that they can test her blood sugar but that will probably be it. Just the thought of her getting stuck makes me sad! :( I know, I'm going to be one of those mothers that cries everytime my baby gets a shot or is hurt. I guess I learned from the best---Mami` Josie!!! She couldn't watch when either of her babies got shots. She would always bring someone with her to do the dirty work. It's funny how now I'm beginning to understand the reason for my mother's madness and how all this is going to feel.

We finished our last parenting class at Woman's Hospital and we feel very confident in taking care of our baby. Here are some pics of us actually practicing on the dolls last night!!!

I know the question on everyone's mind...and yes, Blake did learn how to change a diaper!! He has become a mini expert on all the "techniques" and I'm sure he is ready to face it all. We also learned to bathe, feed, hold the baby and what to expect before during and after delivery. The instructor was great and she made it all extremely fun and exciting.

We have some pretty exciting things happening in the next few weeks so please keep checking in!!!
